| Spc. Joseph A. Rahaim, 22, of Magnolia, Mississippi. Rahaim died in Forward Operating Base Iskandariyah, Iraq, when a roadway collapsed, causing his vehicle to roll over. He was assigned to the Army National Guard's 1st Battalion, 155th Infantry Regiment (Mechanized), McComb, Mississippi. Died on February 16, 2005. Staff Sgt. Richard P. Ramey, 27, of Canton, Ohio. Ramey died in Mahmudiyah, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device detonated. He was assigned to the 703rd Ordinance Company, and was supporting the 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Knox, Kentucky. Died on February 8, 2004. Sgt. Christopher Ramirez, 34, of McAllen, Texas. Ramirez died in Al Anbar Province, Iraq, from injuries sustained during combat operations. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 16th Infantry, 1st Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kansas. Died on April 14, 2004. Spc. Eric U. Ramirez, 31, of San Diego, California. Ramirez died in Abu Gireb, Iraq, when he was attacked by small arms fire, a rocket propelled grenade and an improvised explosive device. Ramirez was assigned to the 670th Military Police Company, Army National Guard, National City, California. Died on February 12, 2004. Pfc. William C. Ramirez, 19, of Portland, Oregon. Ramirez was struck by an improvised explosive device while on mounted patrol in Baghdad, Iraq. He was assigned to Troop E, 2nd Squadron, 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Polk, Louisiana. Died on February 11, 2004. Spc. Aleina Ramirez-Gonzalez, 33, of Hormigueros, Puerto Rico. Ramirez-Gonzalez died in Tikrit, Iraq, when a mortar struck her forward operating base. She was assigned to the 3rd Brigade Troop Battalion, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Georgia. Died on April 15, 2005. Spc. Tamarra J. Ramos, 24, of Quakertown, Pennsylvania. Ramos died at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington D.C., of non-combat related injuries. She was assigned to the 3rd Armor Medical Company, Medical Troop Regimental Support Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Carson, Colorado. Died on October 1, 2003. Pfc. Brandon Ramsey, 21, of Calumet City, Illinois. Ramsey was part of a convoy escort mission in Tallil, Iraq when the vehicle he was in rolled over during a chase of a suspicious vehicle and fatally injured him. Ramsey was assigned to the 933rd Military Police Company, U.S. Army National Guard, Chicago, Illinois. Died on August 8, 2003. Pvt. 2nd Class Carson J. Ramsey, 22, of Winkelman, Arizona. Ramsey died in Baghdad, Iraq, when a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device detonated near his military vehicle. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on October 10, 2004. Spc. Christopher J. Ramsey, 20, of Batchelor, .Louisiana. Randle, 26, of Miami, Florida. Randle was killed when his Bradley Fighting Vehicle struck an improvised explosive device and overturned north of Taji, Iraq. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 20th Field Artillery Regiment, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on January 17, 2004. Pfc. Cleston C. Raney, 20, of Rupert, Idaho. Raney died in Habbaniyah, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device hit his armored personnel carrier. He was assigned to the 1st Engineer Battalion, 1st Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kansas. Died on March 31, 2004. Staff Sgt. Jose C. Rangel, 43, of Saratoga, California. Rangel died in Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, of non-combat related injuries. He was assigned to the Army National Guard's 1106th Aviation Classification Repair Activity Depot, Fresno, California. Died on January 23, 2005. Spc. Rel A. Ravago IV, 21, of Glendale, California. Ravago died in Mosul, Iraq when hostile forces attacked the vehicle he was in. Read died in Qayyarah West, Iraq, when his convoy came under attack by enemy forces using an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 125th Transportation Company from Lexington, Kentucky. Staff Sgt. Aaron T. Reese, 31, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio. Reese was on a river patrol on the Tigris River south of Baghdad, Iraq when he fell overboard. He was assigned to the 135th Military Police Company, Army National Guard, based in Brookpark, Ohio. Died on December 10, 2003. Spc. Jeremy F. Regnier, 22, of Littleton, New Hampshire. Regnier died in Baghdad, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his patrol. He was assigned to 4th Battalion, 5th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on October 13, 2004. Sgt. 1st Class Randall S. Rehn, 36, of Lawton, Oklahoma. Killed in action in Iraq. Assigned to C Battery, 3rd Battalion, 13th Field Artillery Regiment (Multiple Launch Rocket System), Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Died on April 3, 2003. Staff Sgt. George S. Rentschler, 31, of Louisville, Kentucky. Rentschler died in Baghdad, Iraq, when his military vehicle was hit with a rocket-propelled grenade. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 35th Armored Regiment, 1st Armored Division, Baumholder, Germany. Died on April 7, 2004. Spc. Ramon Reyes-Torres, 29, of Caguas, Puerto Rico. Reyes-Torres was killed as he sought cover from a passing truck that contained a command detonated device. Reyes-Torres was assigned to the 432nd Transportation Company, Ceiba, Puerto Rico. Died on July 16, 2003. Sgt. Sean C. Reynolds, 25, of East Lansing, Michigan. Reynolds was climbing a ladder in Iraq when he fell causing his M4 rifle to accidentally discharge. Reynolds was assigned to the 74th Long-Range Surveillance Detachment 173rd Airborne Brigade, Camp Ederle, Italy. Died on May 3, 2003. Spc. David L. Rice, 22, of Sioux City, Iowa. Rice died in Balad, Iraq, of injuries sustained in Muqdadiyah, Iraq, when his HMMWV rolled over. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 5th Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kansas. Died on April 26, 2005. Cpl. Demetrius L. Rice, 24, of Ortonville, Minnesota. Rice died in Talafar, Iraq, when his vehicle rolled over as the driver tried to avoid another vehicle. He was assigned to the 5th Battalion, 20th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, Fort Lewis, Washington. Died on July 14, 2004. Cpl. William D. Richardson, 23, of Moreno Valley, California. Richardson died in Baghdad, Iraq, when he came under enemy fire and fell into a canal. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 41st Infantry Regiment, 1st Armored Division, Fort Riley, Kansas. Died on April 3, 2005. Sgt. Ariel Rico, 25, of El Paso, Texas. Rico died of injuries sustained during an enemy mortar attack in Mosul, Iraq. He was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 320th Field Artillery Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Died on November 28, 2003. Sgt. Kenneth L. Ridgley, 30, of Olney, Illinois. Ridgley died in Mosul, Iraq, of injuries sustained when enemy forces using small arms fire attacked his unit. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade, 25th Infantry Division (Stryker Brigade Combat Team), Fort Lewis, Washington. Died on March 30, 2005. Spc. Jeremy L. Ridlen, 23, of Maroa, Illinois. Ridlen died in East Fallujah, Iraq, from small arms fire after a dump truck on the side of the road was detonated while his military convoy passed by. Riggs died in Tikrit, Iraq, from injuries sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near his dismounted position. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 7th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Georgia. Died on May 17, 2005. Pfc. Diego Fernando Rincon, 19, of Conyers, Georgia. Killed when a taxi carrying a car bomb drove up to an Army checkpoint in central Iraq. He was assigned to the 2-7th Infantry, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Georgia. Died on March 29, 2003. Capt. Russell B. Rippetoe, 27, of Colorado. Killed when a car exploded at a checkpoint in western Iraq. He was assigned to A Company, 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Fort Benning, Georgia. Died on April 3, 2003. Pfc. Henry C. Risner, 26, of Golden, Colorado. Risner died in Baghdad, Iraq, when his checkpoint came under enemy small arms fire. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 14th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), Fort Drum, New York. Died on August 18, 2004. Sgt. 1st Class Jose A. Rivera, 34, of Barranquitas, Puerto Rico. Rivera was part of a patrol in Mumuhdyah, Iraq when his unit came under rocket propelled grenade and small arms fire. He was assigned to Delta Company, 3rd Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on November 5, 2003. Spc. Jose A. Rivera-Serrano, 26, of Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. Rivera-Serrano died in Baghdad, Iraq, from wounds sustained when an improvised explosive device hit his vehicle. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on December 27, 2004. Cpl. John Travis Rivero, 23, of Gainesville, Florida. Rivero died from injuries sustained when his HMMWV turned over in Western Iraq. He was assigned to C Company, 2nd Battalion, 124th Infantry Division, Eustis, Florida. Died on April 17, 2003. Spc. Frank K. Rivers, Jr., 23, of Woodbridge, Virginia. Rivers died in Mosul, Iraq when he collapsed during physical training. He was assigned to the 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division (Stryker Brigade Combat Team), Fort Lewis, Washington. Died on April 14, 2004. Sgt. Thomas D. Robbins, 27, of Delmar, New York. Robbins died in Sinjar, Iraq, when a collection of unexploded ordnance, rocket-propelled grenades and mortar rounds detonated while being moved to a demolition point. He was assigned to Troop A, 1st Squadron, 14th Cavalry Regiment (Stryker), Fort Lewis, Washington. Died on February 9, 2004. Sgt. Todd James Robbins, 33, of Pentwater, Michigan. He was assigned to A Troop, 1st Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment, 1st Armored Division, Armstrong Barracks, Germany. Died on November 22, 2003. Spc. Lizbeth Robles, 31, of Vega Baja, Puerto Rico. Robles died at the 228th Command Support Hospital in Tikirt, Iraq, from injuries sustained in a military vehicle accident that occurred February 28 in Bayji, Iraq. She was assigned to 360th Transportation Company, 68th Corps Support Battalion, 43rd Area Support Group, Fort Carson, Colorado. Died on March 1, 2005. Staff Sgt. Joseph E. Robsky, Jr., 31, of Elizaville, New York. Robsky was on call to neutralize an improvised explosive device (IED) in Baghdad, Iraq after the initial attempt failed. Robsky returned to the site to render it safe, and the IED detonated. He was assigned to the 759th Ordnance Company, Fort Irwin, California. Died on September 10, 2003. Pfc. Marlin T. Rockhold, 23, of Hamilton, Ohio. Pfc. Rockhold was directing traffic when he was struck by a sniper's bullet. Rockhold was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 7th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division (Mechanized), Fort Stewart, Georgia. Died on May 8, 2003. Spc. Ricky W. Rockholt, Jr., 28, of Winston, Oregon. Rockholt died in Tal Afar, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his Stryker military vehicle. He was assigned to the 2nd Squadron, 3rd Armor Cavalry Regiment, Fort Carson, Colorado. Died on April 28, 2005. Staff Sgt. Joseph E. Rodriguez, 25, of Las Cruces, New Mexico. Rodriguez died in Baghdad, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device struck his armored vehicle. He was assigned to the 8th Engineer Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on January 28, 2005. Spc. Philip G. Rogers, 23, of Gresham, Oregon. Rogers died in Mosul, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device hit his military vehicle. Rooney died of his injuries when he was struck by a forklift at Shuabai Port in Kuwait. He was assigned to the 379th Engineer Company, U.S. Army National Guard, Bourne, Massachusetts. Died on September 25, 2003. Staff Sgt. Victor A. Rosales-Lomeli, 29, of Westminster, California. Rosaleslomeli died in Iraq when an improvised explosive device exploded near his escort vehicle. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 2nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, Vilseck, Germany. Died on April 13, 2004. Pfc. Richard H. Rosas, 21, of Saint Louis, Michigan. Rosas died in Fallujah, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device hit his patrol. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 62nd Air Defense Artillery, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), Fort Drum, New York. Died on May 25, 2004. Sgt. Scott C. Rose, 30, of Fayetteville, North Carolina. Rose died when the UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter he was in was shot down by unknown enemy ordnance in Tikrit, Iraq. He was assigned to 5th Battalion, 101st Aviation Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Died on November 7, 2003. Sgt. Thomas C. Rosenbaum, 25, of Hope, Arkansas. Rosenbaum in Baghdad, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device hit his convoy vehicle. He was assigned to the 4th Battalion, 5th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on September 18, 2004. Staff Sgt. Randy S. Rosenberg, 23, of Berlin, New Hampshire. Rosenberg was killed when a vehicle-based improvised explosive device detonated in Khalidiyah, Iraq. He was assigned to Company B, 1st Squadron, 9th Cavalry, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on January 24, 2004. Spc. Marco D. Ross, 20, of Memphis, Tennessee. Ross died in Baghdad, Iraq, when his camp was attacked by individuals using mortars. He was assigned to the 115th Forward Support Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on August 25, 2004. Sgt. Lawrence A. Roukey, 33, of Westbrook, Maine. Roukey died in Baghdad, Iraq, by a large explosion while performing site security. Killed in action when his unit was ambused by the enemy in Al Hillah, Iraq. Assigned to C Company, 1st Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Died on March 31, 2003. Sgt. Roger D. Rowe, 54, of Bon Aqua, Tennessee. Rowe died as a result of an enemy sniper attack in Iraq. Rowe was assigned to the 1174th Troop Command, in Columbia, Tennessee. Died on July 9, 2003. 1st Lt. Jonathan D. Rozier, 25, of Katy, Texas. Rozier's unit was fired upon by rocket-propelled grenades and small arms fire while manning a vehicle checkpoint in Baghdad, Iraq. Rozier was assigned to B Company, 2-70th Armor Battalion (1st Armored Division), Fort Riley, Kansas. Died on July 19, 2003. Spc. Isela Rubalcava, 25, of El Paso, Texas. Rubalcava died in Mosul, Iraq, when a mortar round hit near her. She was assigned to the 296th Combat Support Battalion, 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division (Stryker Brigade Combat Team), Fort Lewis, Washington. Died on May 8, 2004. Spc. David A. Ruhren, 20, of Stafford, Virginia. Ruhren died in Mosul, Iraq, when a suicide bomber entered his dining facility and detonated an improvised explosive device.
