24. Mack was assigned to the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Carson, Colorado. Died on August 23, 2003.
Spc. William J. Maher III, 35, of Yardley, Pennsylvania. Maher was in a convoy when he was injured by an improvised
explosive device. Maher died of his injuries in Baghdad, Iraq. Maher was assigned to the Headquarters and
Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 36th Infantry Regiment, 1st Armored Division, based at Ray Barracks, Germany.

CWO Ian D. Manuel, 23, of Florida. Manuel was a crew member onboard a UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter when it

grenade was thrown near his foot patrol. He was assigned to C Company, 1st Battalion, 153rd Infantry Regiment, 39th
Brigade Combat Team, Arkansas Army National Guard, assigned to the 1st Cavalry Division. Died on May 20, 2004.
Spc. George A. Mitchell, 35, of Rawlings, Maryland. Died of wounds received from an enemy rocket attack south of
Baghdad. He was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 3rd Infantry Division, 2nd Brigade Combat
Team, Fort Stewart, Georgia. Died on April 7, 2003.
Sgt. Keman L. Mitchell, 24, of Hilliard, Florida. Mitchell jumped into seven-foot deep body of water in Kirkuk, Iraq.
When he failed to resurface, members of his squad retrieved him. Medical personnel went to the scene and started
cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Mitchell was evacuated to a forward surgical team and was pronounced dead on arrival.
Mitchell was assigned to Company C, 4th Engineer Battalion, Fort Carson, Colorado. Died on May 26, 2003.
Sgt. Michael W. Mitchell, 25, of Porterville, California. Mitchell died in Baghdad, Iraq, when his unit was attacked with
rocket-propelled grenades and small arms fire. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 37th Armor Regiment, 1st Brigade, 1st
Armored Division, Ray Barracks, Friedberg, Germany. Died on April 4, 2004.
Spc. Sean R. Mitchell, 24, of Youngsville, Pennsylvania. Mitchell died in Habbaniyah, Iraq, when an improvised
explosive device hit his armored personnel carrier. He was assigned to the 1st Engineer Battalion, 1st Brigade, 1st
Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kansas. Died on March 31, 2004.
Sgt. David A. Mitts, 24, of Hammond, Oregon. Mitts died in Mosul, Iraq, when his Stryker military vehicle received
enemy fire during convoy operations. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade, 25th
Infantry Division (Stryker Brigade Combat Team), Fort Lewis, Washington. Died on December 4, 2004.
Pfc. Jesse D. Mizener, 24, of Auburn, California. Mizener was killed when a mortar round hit the Logistics Base in
Baghdad, Iraq. He was assigned to the 542nd Maintenance Company, 44th Corps Support Battalion, 593rd Corps
Support Group, Fort Lewis, Washington. Died on January 7, 2004.
Pfc. Anthony W. Monroe, 20, of Bismarck, North Dakota. Monroe died in Baghdad, Iraq, when two rockets impacted
his camp. He was assigned to Division Artillery, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on October 11, 2004.
1st Lt. Adam G. Mooney, 28, of Cambridge, Maryland. Mooney was listed as duty status unknown on January 25, 2004
in Mosul, Iraq, when his helicopter went down in the Tigris River during a search for a missing soldier. His remains were
recovered on February 14, 2003. Mooney was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 10th Aviation (Fort Drum), however, in
support of mission requirements, he was attached to 3rd Squadron, 17th Cavalry, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum,
New York.
Maj. Horst G. Moore, 38, of San Antonio, Texas. Moore died in Mosul, Iraq, when enemy mortar rounds detonated
within his unit living area. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 24th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade, 25th Infantry Division
(Stryker BrigadeCombat Team), Fort Lewis, Washington. Died on November 9, 2004.
Pfc. Stuart W. Moore, 21, of Livingston, Texas. Moore died in Baghdad, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device
struck his convoy. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 3rd Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Armored Division, based in
Giessen, Germany. Died on December 22, 2003.
Sgt. Travis A. Moothart, 23, of Brownsville, Oregon. Moothart was killed in an improvised explosive device attack in
Khalidiyah, just east of Ar Ramadi, Iraq. He was assigned to Company B, 1st Engineer Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat
Team, 1st Infantry Division (Mech), Fort Riley, Kansas. Died on January 27, 2004.
Spc. Jose L. Mora, 26, of Bell Gardens, California. Mora died of wounds received from an enemy mortar attack in
Samaria, Iraq. He was assigned to C Company, 1st Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson,
Colorado. Died on October 24, 2003.
Sgt. Melvin Y. Mora, 27, of Columbia, Missouri. Mora died in Abu Graib/West Baghdad, Iraq, when his camp Log Base
Seitz was hit by a mortar attack. He was assigned to the Army Reserve's 245th Maintenance Company, St. Louis,
Missouri. Died on June 6, 2004.
Pfc. Michael A. Mora, 19, of Arroyo Grande, California. Mora died in An Najaf, Iraq, when his military vehicle slid off the
road and turned over. He was assigned to 3rd Squadron, 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort
Polk, Louisiana. Died on May 14, 2004.
Master Sgt. Kevin N. Morehead, 33, of Little Rock, Arkansas. Morehead died in Ar Ramadi, Iraq of wounds received
when his unit executed a raid on enemy forces. He was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group, Fort
Campbell, Kentucky. Died on September 12, 2003.
Sgt. Gerardo Moreno, 23, of Terrell, Texas. Moreno died in Ashula, Iraq, when his unit was ambushed by individuals
who fired a rocket-propelled grenade. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 5th Cavalry, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood,
Texas. Died on April 6, 2004.
Spc. Jaime Moreno, 28, of Round Lake Beach, Illinois. Weger died of injuries sustained when an improvised explosive
device detonated near his patrol vehicle on October 12, 2004. He was assigned to 20th Engineer Battalion, 1st Cavalry
Division, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on October 13, 2004.
Pfc. Luis A. Moreno, 19, of Bronx, New York. Moreno was shot on January 23 while he was guarding a gas station in
Baghdad, Iraq. He later died of his injuries at the Lakenheath Medical Treatment Facility, United Kingdom. Moreno was
assigned to Battery A, 4th Battalion, 1st Field Artillery, Fort Riley, Kansas. Died on January 29, 2004.
Sgt. Carl J. Morgain, 40, of Butler, Pennsylvania.Morgain died in Balad, Iraq, of injuries sustained in Kadasia, Iraq,
when a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device detonated near his HMMWV. He was assigned to the Army National
Guard's 1st Battalion, 112th Infantry Regiment, Butler, Pennsylvania. Died on May 22, 2005.
Spc. Dennis B. Morgan, 22, of Valentine, Nebraska. Morgan died in Iskandariyah, Iraq, when his armored personnel
carrier hit an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the Army National Guard's 153rd Engineer Battalion,
Winer, South Dakota. Died on April 17, 2004.
Staff Sgt. Richard L. Morgan, Jr., 38, of St. Clairsville, Ohio. Morgan died in Latfiyah, Iraq, of injuries sustained on
October 4, 2004 when an improvised explosive device detonated near his convoy vehicle. He was assigned to the 660th
Transportation Company, Army Reserve, Cadiz, Ohio. Died on October 5, 2004.
Sgt. Eric W. Morris, 31, of Sparks, Nevada. Morris died in Tal Afar, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device
detonated near his Stryker military vehicle. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 5th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade,
25th Infantry Division (Stryker Brigade Combat Team), Fort Lewis, Washington. Died on April 28, 2005.
Sgt. Kelly S. Morris, 24, of Boise, Idaho. Morris died in Baghdad, Iraq, from injuries sustained from enemy small arms
fire. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 64th Armor Regiment, 3d Infantry Division from Fort Stewart, Georgia. Died on
March 30, 2005.

Sgt. Benjamin C. Morton, 24, of Wright, Kansas. Morton died in Mosul, Iraq, when his dismounted patrol encountered
enemy small arms fire. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 24th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade, 25th Infantry Division
(Stryker Brigade Combat Team), Fort Lewis, Washington. Died on May 22, 2005.
Spc. Jason L. Moski, 24, of Blackville, South Carolina. Moski died in Taji, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device
detonated while he was on dismounted patrol. He was assigned to the 4th Battalion, 1st Field Artillery, Fort Riley,

Sgt. Keelan L. Moss, 23, of Houston, Texas. Moss was on board a CH-47 Chinook Helicopter when it went down in Al
Fallujah, Iraq. The cause of the incident is unknown and an investigation is underway. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion,
5th Field Artillery Regiment, Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Died on November 2, 2003.
Spc. Clifford L. Moxley, Jr., 51, of New Castle, Pennsylvania. Moxley died in Baghdad, Iraq, of non-combat related
