Sgt. Seth K. Garceau, 27, of Oelwein, Iowa. Garceau died at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Landstuhl,
Germany, of injuries sustained in Ar Ramadi, Iraq, on February 27, 2005 when an improvised explosive device
detonated near his military vehicle. He was assigned to the Army National Guard's 224th Engineer Battalion, 155th
Brigade Combat Team, Fairfield, Iowa. Died on March 4, 2005.
Spc. Tomas Garces, 19, of Weslaco, Texas. Garces died in Baghdad, Iraq, when his convoy was attacked by enemy
forces using an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the Army National Guard's 1836th Transportation

Sgt. Javier J. Garcia, 25, of Crawfordville, Florida. Garcia died in Baghdad, Iraq, when improvised explosive devices

Georgia. Died on April 5, 2005.
Staff Sgt. Juan De Dios Garcia-Arana, 27, of Los Angeles, California. Garcia-Arana died in Khaladiyah, Iraq, when his
Bradley Fighting Vehicle was attacked by enemy forces using small arms fire. He was assigned to the 5th Battalion, 5th

Spc. Joseph M. Garmback, Jr., 24, of Cleveland, Ohio. Garmback was looking for survivors in the Iraqi National
Guard Headquarters in Baghdad, Iraq after it was destroyed by a suicide car bomber, when it came under a mortar
attack. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, Schweinfurt, Germany. Died on
July 8, 2004.
Sgt. Landis W. Garrison, 23, of Rapids City, Illinois. Garrison died in Abu Gharb, Iraq, of non-combat related injuries.
He was assigned to the 333rd Military Police Company, Illinois National Guard, Freeport, Illinois. Died on April 29, 2004.
Sgt. Justin W. Garvey, 23, of Townsend, Massachusetts. Garvey was patrolling a village in Tallifar, Iraq when the

Staff Sgt. Joseph P. Garyantes, 34, of Rehoboth, Delaware. Garyantes died by sniper fire in Muqdadiyah, Iraq, while

Sgt. Cari A. Gasiewicz, 28, of Depew, New York. Gasiewicz died in Baqubah, Iraq, when two improvised explosive
devices detonated near her convoy. She was assigned to the 202nd Military Intelligence Battalion, 513th Military
Intelligence Brigade, Fort Gordon, Georgia. Died on December 4, 2004.
Pfc. George R. Geer, 27, of Cortez, Colorado. Geer died in Ar Ramadi, Iraq, when a vehicle-borne improvised
explosive device detonated near his position. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 2nd
Infantry Division, Camp Casey, Korea. Died on January 17, 2005.
Spc. Christopher D. Gelineau, 23, of Portland, Maine. Gelineau died in Mosul, Iraq, when his vehicle hit an improvised

Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on August 6, 2003.
Pvt. Landon S. Giles, 19, of Arkadelphia, Arkansas. Giles died in Abertha, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device
detonated while he was on patrol. He was assigned to 6th Squadron, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade, 3rd Infantry
Division, Fort Stewart, Georgia. Died on February 26, 2005.
Sgt. Charles C. Gillican III, 35, of Brunswick, Georgia. Gillican died at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, from injuries sustained in a
military vehicle accident. Gillican was assigned to the Army National Guard's 1st Battalion, 118th Field Artillery
Regiment, 48th Infantry Brigade, Brunswick, Georgia. Died on May 14, 2005.
Command Sgt. Maj. Cornell W. Gilmore I, 45, of Baltimore, Maryland. Gilmore died when the UH-60 Black Hawk
helicopter he was in was shot down by unknown enemy ordnance in Tikrit, Iraq. He was assigned to the Judge Advocate
General Office, Headquarters Department of the Army, Pentagon. Died on November 7, 2003.
Pfc. Jesse A. Givens, 34, of Springfield, Missouri. Givens was parked in an M-1 main battle tank alongside the bank of
the Euphrates River in Al Habbaniyah, Iraq. The riverbank gave way resulting in the tank falling into the river. Givens
was assigned to 2nd Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Carson, Colorado. Died on May 1, 2003.
Spc. Steven R. Givens, 26, of Mobile, Alabama. Givens died in Balad, Iraq, from injuries sustained from enemy small
arms fire. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 15th Infantry Regiment, 3d Brigade, 3d Infantry Division, Fort Benning,
Georgia. Died on May 8, 2005.
Spc. Michael T. Gleason, 25, of Warren, Pennsylvania. Spc. Gleason was traveling in a three-vehicle convoy during a
storm from Mosul to Tikrit (2 HUMMVs, 1 light medium tactical vehicle). A civilian vehicle dodged a pothole causing the
HUMMVs to swerve. There was not enough stopping distance between the vehicles causing the LMTV to swerve off the
road and turn over, causing the death of Gleason and two other soldiers. He was assigned to the 519th Military
Intelligence Battalion, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on May 30, 2003.
Sgt. Lee M. Godbolt, 23, of New Orleans, Louisiana. Godbolt died in Baghdad, Iraq, when a vehicle-borne improvised
explosive device detonated near his HMMWV while he was on patrol. He was assigned to the Army National Guard's 1st
Battalion, 141st Field Artillery Regiment, New Orleans, Louisiana. Died on March 26, 2005.
2nd Lt. James Michael Goins, 23, of Bonner Springs, Kansas. Goins died as a result of hostile fire in Najaf, Iraq. He
was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 12th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on August 15, 2004.
Sgt. Christopher A. Golby, 26, of Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Golby was a crew member onboard a UH-60 Blackhawk
helicopter when it crashed near Fallujah, Iraq while on a MEDEVAC mission. He was assigned to the 571st Medical
Company (Air Ambulance), Fort Carson, Colorado. Died on January 8, 2004.
Spc. David J. Goldberg, 20, of Layton, Utah. Goldberg died of a non-combat related injury in Qayyarah, Iraq. He was
assigned to C Company, 52nd Engineer Combat Battalion (Heavy), U.S. Army Reserve, 43rd Area Support Group, Fort
Carson, Colorado. Died on November 26, 2003.
Spc. Dakotah L. Gooding, 21, of Des Moines, Iowa. Gooding died in Balad, Iraq, when the vehicle he was riding in
overturned. He was assigned to the 5th Squadron, 7th Cavalry, 3d Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Georgia. Died on
February 13, 2005.
Pfc. Gregory R. Goodrich, 37, of Bartonville, Illinois. Goodrich died in Iraq when his convoy came under attack by

Sgt. 1st Class Richard S. Gottfried, 42, of Lake Ozark, Missouri. Gottfried died in Tampa, Iraq, when struck by an

Spc. Richard A. Goward, 32, of Midland, Michigan. Died in Iraq when his truck entered a dust cloud and rear-ended
the truck in front of him. Goward was assigned to 1460th Transportation Company, Midland, Michigan. Died on April 14,

2nd Lt. Jeffrey C. Graham, 24, of Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Graham died of injuries sustained from small arms fire and

Sgt. Tommy L. Gray, 34, of Roswell, New Mexico. Gray died in Taji, Iraq, when he became caught between two motor
pool vehicles. Gray was assigned to 215th Forward Support Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on
August 3, 2004.
Pfc. Devin J. Grella, 21, of Medina, Ohio. Grella died in Iraq after an improvised explosive device exploded near his
convoy vehicle. He was assigned to the Army Reserve's 706th Transportation Company from Mansfield, Ohio. Died on
September 6, 2004.
Staff Sgt. Daniel G. Gresham, 23, of Lincoln, Illinois. Gresham died in Camp Wilson, Iraq, when a second improvised
explosive device detonated while he was responding to a first device. He was assigned to the 797th Ordnance Company
(Explosive Ordnance Disposal), 79th Ordnance Battalion, 52nd Ordnance, Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Died on February
24, 2005.

Sgt. Sean R. Grilley, 24, of San Bernardino, California. Grilley and other soldiers were attempting to negotiate with
armed men who were congregating after curfew on a road near a mosque in Karbala, Iraq. The Iraqis opened fire killing
three soldiers and wounding seven others. He was assigned to the 716th Military Police Battalion, 101st Airborne
Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Died on October 16, 2003.
Capt. Sean Grimes, 31, of Southfield, Michigan. Grimes died in Ar Ramadi, Iraq when an improvised explosive device
detonated near his patrol. He was assigned to the 1st Infantry Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat
Team, Fort Carson, Colorado. Died on March 4, 2005.
Pfc. Daniel F. Guastaferro, 27, of Las Vegas, Nevada. Guastaferro died in Ar Ramadi, Iraq, when his military vehicle

Sgt. Jose Guereca, Jr., 24, of Missouri City, Texas. Guereca died in Fallujah, Iraq, when an improvised explosive

CWO Hans N. Gukeisen, 31, of Lead, South Dakota. Gukeisen was onboard an UH-60 air medical helicopter which
crashed in the Tigris River in a non-hostile incident near Samarrah, Iraq. He was assigned to the 571st Air Medical
Company, Fort Carson, Colorado. Died on May 9, 2003.
