Spc. Nathan W. Nakis, 19, of Corvallis, Oregon. Nakis was in a convoy returning to Mosul when he lost control of his
vehicle after driving through an oil-soaked area in Mosul, Iraq. He was assigned to Company B, 52nd Engineer Battalion
(Heavy), Army National Guard, based in Albany, Oregon. Died on December 16, 2003.
Pvt. Kenneth A. Nalley, 19, of Hamburg, Iowa. Nalley and Staff Sgt. Brett J. Petriken were escorting a convoy in a
HMMWV when a heavy equipment transporter crossed the median and struck their vehicle in As Samawah, Iraq. Both
soldiers were assigned to the 501st Military Police Company, Wiesbaden, Germany. Died on May 26, 2003.
CW2 Christopher G. Nason, 39, of California. Nason died of injuries sustained in a vehicular accident between Mosul
and Dihok, Iraq. He was assigned to A Company, 306th Military Intelligence Battalion, Fort Huachuca, Arizona. Died on
November 23, 2003.
Spc. Rafael L. Navea, 34, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. An improvised explosive device struck Navea's vehicle in Al
Fallujah, Iraq. Navea died of his injuries. Navea was assigned to C Battery, 2nd Battalion, 5th Field Artillery Regiment,
Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Died on August 27, 2003.
Spc. Charles L. Neeley, 19, of Mattoon, Illinois. Neeley died in Tikrit, Iraq, when his tractor-trailer rolled over as he
attempted to access a pontoon bridge. He was assigned to the Army Reserve's 454th Transportation Company,
Columbus, Ohio. Died on August 25, 2004.
Staff Sgt. Paul M. Neff II, 30, of Fort Mill, South Carolina. Neff died when the UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter he was in
was shot down by unknown enemy ordnance in Tikrit, Iraq. He was assigned to 5th Battalion, 101st Aviation Regiment,
101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Died on November 7, 2003.
Sgt. Julio E. Negron, 28, of Pompano Beach, Florida. Negron died from injuries sustained in a military vehicle accident
in Bayji, Iraq. He was assigned to 360th Transportation Company, 68th Corps Support Battalion, 43rd Area Support
Group, Fort Carson, Colorado. Died on February 28, 2005.
Cpl. Gavin L. Neighbor, 20, of Somerset, Ohio. Neighbor was off work from guard duty resting in a bus in Baghdad,
Iraq when a rocket propelled grenade round was fired from men in the street. Neighbor died as a result of his wounds.
He was assigned to Company C, 3rd Battalion, 325th Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North
Carolina. Died on June 10, 2003.
Spc. Craig L. Nelson, 21, of Bossier City, Louisiana. Nelson died at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda,
Maryland, of injuries sustained December 16, 2004 in Baghdad, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device detonated
near his military vehicle. He was assigned to the Army National Guard's 1st Battalion, 156th Armor Regiment,
Shreveport, Louisiana. Died on December 29, 2004.
Spc. Joshua M. Neusche, 20, of Montreal, Missouri. Neusche died from a non-combat cause in Homburg Hospital,
Germany. Neusche was assigned to the 203rd Engineer Battalion, in Joplin, Missouri. Died on July 12, 2003.
Spc. Isaac Michael Nieves, 20, of Unadilla, New York. Nieves was killed by a rocket-propelled grenade when his
combat patrol was ambushed by insurgents in Bani Saad, Iraq. He was assigned to 82nd Engineer Battalion, 1st Infantry
Division, Bamberg, Germany. Died on April 8, 2004.
Spc. Allen Nolan, 38, of Marietta, Ohio. Nolan died at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, of injuries sustained on September 18,
2004 in Balad, Iraq, when his convoy vehicle struck an improvised explosive device and then came under small arms
fire. He was assigned to the Army Reserve's 660th Transportation Company, Zanesville, Ohio. Died on September 30,
2004.
Sgt. Joseph M. Nolan, 27, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Nolan died in Fallujah, Iraq, when his unit was on patrol and
an improvised explosive device detonated near his up-armored HMMWV. He was assigned to the 312th Military
Intelligence Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on November 18, 2004.
Cpl. Marcos O. Nolasco, 34, of Chino, California. Nolasco died in Baji, Iraq, as a result of an electrocution accident. He
was assigned to Battery B, 1st Battalion, 33rd Field Artillery, 1st Infantry Division, Bamberg, Germany. Died on May 18,
2004.
Sgt. William J. Normandy, 42, of Augusta, Georgia. Normandy died in Camp Virginia, Iraq (north of Kuwait City), of
non-combat related injuries. He was assigned to the Army National Guard, 1st Battalion, 86th Field Artillery, Montpelier,
Vermont. Died on March 15, 2004.
Spc. Joseph C. Norquist, 26, of San Antonio, Texas. Norquist was in a convoy that came under attack from rocket
propelled grenades and small arms fire in Baqubah, Iraq. Norquist was fatally injured in the incident. He was assigned to
the 588th Engineer Battalion, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on October 9, 2003.
1st Lt. Leif E. Nott, 24, of Cheyenne, Wyoming. Nott died of wounds received from hostile fire in Belaruz, Iraq. Nott was
assigned to A Troop, 1st Battalion, 10th Cavalry, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on July 30, 2003.
Staff Sgt. Todd E. Nunes, 29, of Chapel Hills, Tennessee.Nunes died in Kirkuk, Iraq, when his convoy encountered an
improvised explosive device and small arms fire. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry
Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. Died on May 2, 2004.
Spc. David T. Nutt, 32, of Douglas, Georgia. Nutt died in Mosul, Iraq when an Iraqi civilian vehicle cut his loaded 5-Ton
Truck off on the road. Nutt swerved; hit the median and his vehicle overturned. He was assigned to the 494th
Transportation Company, Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Died on May 14, 2003.
Staff Sgt. Nathaniel J. Nyren, 31, of Reston, Virginia. Nyren died in Baghdad, Iraq when a civilian vehicle struck his
military vehicle. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on
December 28, 2004.
