Capt. Eric T. Paliwoda, 28, of Texas. Paliwoda was in his command post in Balad, Iraq when it came under mortar
attack. He was assigned to 4th Engineer Battalion, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized), Fort
Carson, Colorado. Died on January 2, 2004.
Spc. Jacob C. Palmatier, 29, of Springfield, Illinois. Palmatier died in Muqdadiyah, Iraq, when an improvised explosive
device detonated near his military vehicle. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 30th Infantry Regiment, 3d Brigade, 3d
Infantry Division, Fort Benning, Georgia. Died on February 24, 2005.
Staff Sgt. Dale A. Panchot, 26, of Northome, Minnesota. Panchot was on patrol south of Balad, Iraq when he was
fatally injured by enemy fire. He was assigned to B Company, 1st Battalion, 8th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat
Team, 4th Infantry Division (Mech), Fort Carson, Colorado. Died on November 17, 2003.
Pfc. Daniel R. Parker, 18, of Lake Elsinore, California. Parker was thrown from his vehicle when the driver swerved to
avoid an oncoming vehicle in another lane in Mosul, Iraq. Parker was fatally injured. Parker was assigned to B Battery,
2nd Battalion, 44th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Died
on August 12, 2003.
Pfc. James D. Parker, 20, of Bryan, Texas. Parker died in a mortar attack on a forward operating base near Ba'qubah.

Sgt. Kenya A. Parker, 26, of Fairfield, Alabama. Parker died in Baghdad, Iraq, of a non-combat related medical

Sgt. David B. Parson, 30, of Kannapolis, North Carolina. Parson was conducting a raid on a house in Baghdad, Iraq
when he was shot and killed. Parson was assigned to the 1-37th Armored Battalion, 1st Armored Division, Friedburg,
Germany. Died on July 6, 2003.
Staff Sgt. Esau G. Patterson, Jr., 25, of Ridgeland, South Carolina. Patterson died in Baghdad, Iraq, when a vehicle
approached his unit and the driver detonated a bomb. He was assigned to 4th Battalion, 27th Field Artillery Regiment,
1st Armored Division, Baumholder, Germany. Died on April 29, 2004.
Spc. Rocky D. Payne, 26, of Howell, Utah. Payne died in Iraq when an improvised explosive device detonated near his
HMMWV. He was assigned to the 497th Transportation Company, 44th Corps Support Battalion, 1st Corps Support
Command, Fort Lewis, Washington. Died on March 16, 2005.
Master Sgt. Williams L. Payne, 46, of Otsego, Michigan. Payne was examining unexploded ordnance in Haswah, Iraq
when the ordnance exploded causing his death. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 70th Armor Regiment, Fort Riley,
Kansas. Died on May 16, 2003.
Sgt. Michael F. Pedersen, 26, of Flint, Michigan. Killed when his UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter crashed in central Iraq.
He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 3rd Aviation Regiment, Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia. Died on April 2, 2003.
Staff Sgt. Abraham D. Penamedina, 32, of Los Angeles, California. Penamedina died in Baghdad, Iraq, when his
patrol came under sniper fire. He was assigned to Company B, 20th Engineer Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood,
Texas. Died on April 27, 2004.

Sgt. Joel Perez, 25, of Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. Perez was on board a CH-47 Chinook Helicopter when it went down in

Battalion, 5th Field Artillery Regiment, Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Died on November 2, 2003.
Spc. Wilfredo Perez, Jr., 24, of Norwalk, Connecticut. Perez was killed as a result of a grenade being thrown from a
window of an Iraqi civilian hospital that he was guarding in Ba'qubah, Iraq. He was assigned to Headquarters and
Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 67th Armor Regiment, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on July 26,
2003.
Pfc. Luis A. Perez, 19, of Theresa, New York. Perez died in Fallujah, Iraq, when his convoy vehicle hit an improvised
explosive device. He was assigned to the Army Reserve's 223rd Transportation Company, Norristown, Pennsylvania.
Died on August 27, 2004.
Staff Sgt. David S. Perry, 36, of Bakersfield, California. Perry was inspecting a suspicious package in Baquabah, Iraq
when it exploded and fatally injured him. Perry was assigned to 649th Military Police Company, U.S. Army National
Guard, Camp San Luis Obispo, California. Died on August 10, 2003.
Pfc. Charles C. Persing, 20, of Albany, Louisiana. Persing died in Scandaria, Iraq, when multiple mortars rounds hit his
forward operating base. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry, 1st Brigade, 10th Mountain Division (Light
Infantry), Fort Drum, New York. Died on July 19, 2004.
Spc. Alyssa R. Peterson, 27, of Flagstaff, Arizona. Peterson died from a non-combat weapons discharge in Telafar,
Iraq. She was assigned to C Company, 311th Military Intelligence Battalion, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort
Campbell, Kentucky. Died on September 15, 2003.
Staff Sgt. Brett J. Petriken, 30, of Michigan. Petriken and Pvt. Kenneth A. Nalley were escorting a convoy in a
HMMWV when a heavy equipment transporter crossed the median and struck their vehicle in As Samawah, Iraq. Both
soldiers were assigned to the 501st Military Police Company, Wiesbaden, Germany. Died on May 26, 2003.
Staff Sgt. James L. Pettaway, Jr., 37, of Baltimore, Maryland. Pettaway died in Brooke Army Medical Center at Fort
Sam Houston, Texas, of injuries sustained in Fallujah, Iraq, on August 27, 2004 when he was involved in a motor vehicle
accident. He was assigned to 223rd Transportation Company, Army Reserve, Norristown, Pennsylvania. Died on
October 3, 2004.
Staff Sgt. Erickson H. Petty, 28, of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma. Petty died in Salman Al Habb, Iraq, from an attack by small
arms fire while conducting security of a weapons cache. He was assigned to Headquarters, Headquarters Company, 1st
Battalion, 35th Armor Regiment, 1st Armored Division, Smith Barracks, Baumholder, Germany. Died on May 3, 2004.
Pfc. Jerrick M. Petty, 25, of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Petty was attacked by enemy forces while guarding a gas station. He
died of his injuries. Petty was assigned to Company B, 3rd Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 101st
Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Died on December 10, 2003.
Spc. Jacob M. Pfister, 27, of Buffalo, New York. Pfister died in Baghdad, Iraq, when a vehicle-borne improvised
explosive device detonated near his dismounted patrol. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 7th Infantry Regiment, 3rd
Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Georgia. Died on April 19, 2005.
Lt. Col. Mark P. Phelan, 44, of Green Lane, Pennsylvania. Phelan died in Mosul, Iraq, when an improvised explosive
device detonated near his convoy vehicle. He was assigned to 416th Civil Affairs Battalion, Army Reserve, Morristown,
Pennsylvania. Died on October 13, 2004.
Sgt. 1st Class Gladimir Philippe, 37, of Linden, New Jersey. Philippe and Pfc. Kevin C. Ott failed to respond to a radio
check South of Balad, Iraq on June 25, 2003. The soldiers' remains were located on June 28, 2003 in Taji, Iraq. He was
assigned to Battery B, 3rd Battalion, 18th Field Artillery Regiment, Fort Sill, Oklahoma.
Sgt. Ivory L. Phipps, 44, of Chicago, Illinois. Phipps died in Baghdad, Iraq, of injuries sustained from a mortar attack.
He was assigned to the 1544th Transportation Company, Illinois Army National Guard, Paris, Illinois. Died on March 17,
2004.
Capt. Pierre E. Piche, 29, of Starksboro, Vermont. Piche died when two 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) UH-60
Black Hawk helicopters crashed in Mosul, Iraq. He was assigned to the 626th Forward Support Battalion, 101st Airborne
Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Died on November 15, 2003.
Pfc. Lori Ann Piestewa, 23, of Tuba City, Arizona. Killed in action after her convoy was ambushed in Iraq on March 23,
2003. She was assigned to the 507th Maintenance Company, Fort Bliss, Texas.
Sgt. Foster Pinkston, 47, of Warrenton, Georgia. Pinkston died in Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Augusta,
Georgia, from a non-combat related illness. Pinkston was assigned to the Army National Guard's 878th Engineer
Battalion, Augusta, Georgia. Died on September 16, 2003.
Capt. Dennis L. Pintor, 30, of Lima, Ohio. Pintor died when an improvised explosive device detonated near his patrol
vehicle. He was assigned to 20th Engineer Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on October 12, 2004.
Cpl. James Heath Pirtle, 27, of La Mesa, New Mexico. Pirtle was in a Bradley Fighting Vehicle when a RPG struck his
vehicle in Assadah, Iraq. He was assigned to C Company, 2nd Battalion, 8th Infantry Regiment, Fort Hood, Texas. Died
on October 4, 2003.
Sgt. Adam J. Plumondore, 22, of Gresham, Oregon. Plumondore died in Mosul, Iraq, when a vehicle-borne improvised
explosive device detonated near his vehicle. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 24th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade,
25th Infantry Division, Fort Lewis, Washington. Died on February 16, 2005.
Staff Sgt. Andrew R. Pokorny, 30, of Naperville, Illinois. On the way back from patrol, Pokorny's M113 armored
personnel carrier threw a track causing the vehicle to roll over in Al Asad, Iraq. He was assigned to 3rd Air Defense
Artillery, 3rd Armor Cavalry Regiment, Fort Carson, Colorado. Died on June 13, 2003.
Spc. Justin W. Pollard, 21, of Foothill Ranch, California. Pollard died as a result of injuries sustained in a non-combat
related incident in Baghdad, Iraq. He was assigned to 2nd Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Carson,
Colorado. Died on December 30, 2003.
Spc. Larry E. Polley, Jr., 20, of Center, Texas. Polley was killed when his Bradley Fighting Vehicle struck an improvised
explosive device and overturned north of Taji, Iraq. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 20th Field Artillery Regiment,
4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on January 17, 2004.
Sgt. Darrin K. Potter, 24, of Louisville, Kentucky. Potter was a member of a military police team searching the prison
area near Abu Ghraib Prison, Iraq. During the search, his vehicle left the road and went into a canal. SGT Potter died in
the vehicle, two other soldiers escaped. He was assigned to the 223rd Military Police Company, U.S. Army National
Guard, Louisville, Kentucky. Died on September 29, 2003.
Pfc. David L. Potter, 22, of Johnson City, Tennessee. Potter died in Baghdad, Iraq, of non-combat related injuries. He
was assigned to the 115th Forward Support Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on August 7, 2004.
Sgt. Christopher S. Potts, 38, of Tiverton, Rhode Island. Potts died in Taji, Iraq, as his unit was conducting traffic
control operations and enemy forces attacked them using small arms fire. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 103rd Field
Artillery Regiment, Army National Guard, Providence, Rhode Island. Died on October 3, 2004.
Sgt. Lynn R. Poulin, Sr., 47, of Freedom, Maine. Poulin died in Mosul, Iraq, when a suicide bomber entered his dining
facility and detonated an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the Army National Guard's 133rd Engineer
Battalion, Belfast, Maine. Died on December 21, 2004.
Spc. James E. Powell, 26, of Radcliff, Kentucky.
Powell was killed when his M2/A2 Bradley Fighting Vehicle struck an enemy anti-tank mine in Baji, Iraq. Powell was
assigned to B Company, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on October
12, 2003.
Pfc. James E. Prevete, 22, of Whitestone, New York. Prevete died in Habbaniya, Iraq, when his military vehicle
encountered whiteout conditions and the driver apparently lost control of the vehicle. He was assigned to 1st Battalion,
506th Infantry Regiment, Camp Greaves, Korea. Died on October 10, 2004.
Pvt. Kelley S. Prewitt, 24, of Alabama. Killed in action by enemy fire in Iraq. Prewitt was assigned to Headquarters and
Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 69th Armor Regiment, Fort Benning, Georgia. Died on April 6, 2003.
Sgt. Tyler D. Prewitt, 22, of Phoenix, Arizona. Prewitt died in Landstuhl, Germany, from injuries sustained in Baqubah,
Iraq, on September 24, 2004 when a rocket-propelled grenade struck his vehicle and exploded. He was assigned to 2nd
Battalion, 2nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, Vilseck, Germany. Died on September 28, 2004.
Pfc. James W. Price, 22, of Cleveland, Tennessee. Price in Baghdad, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device hit his
convoy vehicle. He was assigned to the 4th Battalion, 5th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort
Hood, Texas. Died on September 18, 2004.
1st Lt. Timothy E. Price, 25, of Midlothian, Virginia. Price died when he came under attack by enemy forces using small
arms fire. He was assigned to the 127th Military Police Company, 709th Military Police Battalion, 18th Military Police
Brigade, V Corps, Hanau, Germany. Died on September 7, 2004.
Cpl. Kevin W. Prince, 22, of Plain City, Ohio. Prince died in Baghdad, Iraq, of injuries sustained in Iskandariyah, Iraq,
when an improvised explosive device detonated near his HMMWV. He was assigned to the 2nd Squadron, 11th Armored
Cavalry Regiment, Fort Irwin, California. Died on April 23, 2005.
Sgt. Jaror C. Puello-Coronado, 36, of Pocono Summit, Pennsylvania. Puello-Coronado was manning a traffic point
when the operator of a dump truck lost control of the vehicle. Puello-Coronado was struck by the truck and died of his
injuries at Camp Edson, Iraq. He was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 310th Military Police
Battalion, Uniondale, New York. Died on July 13, 2003.
Spc. Robert S. Pugh, 25, of Meridian, Mississippi. Pugh died in Iskandariyah, Iraq, when an improvised explosive
device detonated near his military vehicle. He was assigned to the Army National Guard's 1st Battalion, 155th Infantry,
